Thura Ko Ko is a founding partner of YGA Capital, a Myanmar registered company focused on identifying and investing in attractive growth opportunities In Myanmar. YGA Capital is associated with global and regional private equity funds. Prior to returning to Myanmar in 2010, Mr.Ko worked for over 12 years in Global investment banking and private equity firms covering Asia out of Hong Kong. He was most recently a Vice President at Providence Equity, the global Telecom and media fund. Prior to this, he worked for Goldman Sachs, the global investment bank, and N.M. Rothschild, the U.K. Abased privatization and M&A house. Transactions completed included the privatization of Philippines national Electricity grid, Transco, and advising on strategic investments into Vietnam’s Water distribution and treatment plants. Mr. Ko holds a B.Sc. in Economics from the London School of Economics, University of London. He is a Senior Advisor to TPG Capital and was elected as a Young Global Leader for the World Economic Forum in 2013.

Tan Sri Dr. Munir is the Chairman of Bank Muamalat Malaysia Bhd, and has been on its board since 2008. He obtained his B.Sc (Econ) from the London School of Economics and Political Science in 1971, and his PhD in International Relations in 1978. He was teaching at the Department of International Relations of his alma mater from 1972-1975, and was an analyst for Daiwa Europe NV in London from 1975-1978. On his return back to Malaysia at the end of 1978, Tan Sri Dr. Munir joined The New Straits Times Press (NSTP) as a lead writer and progressed to become its Group Editor. He left The NST in 1986 to become the CEO of a small merchant bank, Pertanian Baring Sanwa (PBS), which then became Commerce International Merchant Bankers, the genesis of today’s CIMB Group. He left CIMB in 1993 at the invitation of the Government of Malaysia to set up the Securities Commission and became its first Executive Chairman until 1999. He continued on with his illustrious career, serving in various capacities, including as Chairman of both Celcom and Malaysia Airlines System at different times. He is the founder and President of the Kuala Lumpur Business Club (2003-2008) and is now the chairman of its Advisory Council. He was made an Honorary Fellow of the London School of Economics and Political Science in December 2005, and in 2008, a Visiting Senior Fellow of LSE IDEAS (Centre for the Study of International Affairs, Diplomacy and Strategy) where he heads the Southeast Asia International AffairsProgramme. He is also a member of the International Institute of Strategic Studies in London.

He left CIMB in 1993 at the invitation of the Government of Malaysia to set up the Securities Commission and became its first Executive Chairman until 1999. He continued on with his illustrious career, serving in various capacities, including as Chairman of both Celcom and Malaysia Airlines System at different times. He is the founder and President of the Kuala Lumpur Business Club (2003-2008) and is now the chairman of its Advisory Council.

He was made an Honorary Fellow of the London School of Economics and Political Science in December 2005, and in 2008, a Visiting Senior Fellow of LSE IDEAS (Centre for the Study of International Affairs, Diplomacy and Strategy) where he heads the Southeast Asia International Affairs Programme. A graduate in economics from the University of Melbourne, Australia, Mustapa pursued a Master’s degree at Boston University, and began work as an Administrative and Diplomatic Officer in the Ministry of Finance (1974–1980). Later, he lectured at the National Institute of Public Administration (1982–1984) and served as Special Officer to the Minister of Finance (1984–1987), before entering active politics in late 1987

Promoted to Managing Director, Warner Music Malaysia in 1992 and to Regional Managing Director, Warner Music South East Asia in 1996. In 1999, he was the Vice President of Warner Music South East Asia. His awards include the Honor of the Commander of the Order of the British Empire, conferred by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in 2011 for services to promote commercial and educational links between the UK and Malaysia. In 2010, he received the Officer of the Legion d’Honneur award from the French government, the highest award that can be conferred on a non-French national. He was named as one of the world’s most creative people in business for 2011 by New York-based business magazine Fast Company, and awarded the inaugural ‘Travel Business Leaders Award’ winner by CNBC.

Nazir Razak is the Group Chairman of CIMB Group Holdings Bhd. (“CIMB Group”). He joined CIMB’s corporate advisory department in 1989 and was appointed Chief Executive in 1999 followed by Chairman recently in 2014. Nazir spearheaded the Group’s transformation from a Malaysian investment bank to a regional universal bank via several acquisitions throughout the region.

Today, CIMB Group is Malaysia’s 2nd largest financial services group and the 5th largest in ASEAN, with total assets of around $114 billion and a staff force of over 40,000. Nazir is married to Dato’ Azlina Aziz and they have 2 young children. He graduated from the University of Bristol with a B.Sc. (Hons) and obtained an M.Phil. From the University of Cambridge.

Dato’ Sri Idris Jala is the current Minister without Portfolio in the Prime Minister’s Department and is the Chief Executive Officer of the Performance Management and Delivery Unit (PEMANDU) – unit monitoring for implementation of the Key Performance Indicator (KPI) initiative. He is also a Senator in the Dewan Negara, upper house parliament. In 2005, he served as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Malaysia Airlines Cargo Sdn Bhd. (MAS). Prior to being a minister and served in MAS, Dato’ Sri Idris Jala used to work for Shell for 23 years since 1982, and has hold a various number of key positions in the company, serving across different divisions and regions. He was recognized in the company through turning SHELL’s operation around when he was attached with the oil company.

He holds a Bachelor in Management from University Sains Malaysia, Penang in 1982 and a MBA from University of Warwick, United Kingdom.

Datin Paduka Siti Sa’diah Sheikh Bakir was appointed as the Non-Independent Non-Executive Director from 1 January 2013. She was subsequently re-designated as an Independent Non-Executive Director on 1 May 2015. She is also the Chairman and Pro-Chancellor of KPJ Healthcare University Colege (KPJUC) since 1 August 2011.

Datin Paduka had served as the Managing Director (MD) of KPJ from 1 March 1993 until her retirement on 31 December 2012. She had also served as KPJ’s Corporate Advisor from 1 January 2013 until 31 December 2014.

She graduated with a Bachelor of Economics from University of Malaya and holds an MBA from Henley Business School, University of Reading, London, United Kingdom.

Her career with JCorp commenced in 1974 and had been directly involved in JCorp’s Healthcare Division since 1978. She was appointed as the Chief Executive of Kumpulan Perubatan (Johor) Sdn Bhd (KPJSB), from 1989 until the listing of KPJ in November 1994.

Throughout her career in KPJ, Datin Paduka is directly involved in developing and implementing the transformational strategies that made KPJ one of Malaysia’s leading private healthcare services provider with 25 hospitals nationwide, and 4 hospitals abroad.

Datin Paduka currently sits as a Director of Kulim (Malaysia) Berhad and Chemical Company of Malaysia Berhad (CCM). Datin Paduka sat as an independent Non-Executive Director of Bursa Malaysia from 2004 to 2012.

Committed to promoting excellence in healthcare, Datin Paduka is the President of the Malaysian Society for Quality in Health (MSQH), the national accreditation body for healthcare services, elected since its inception in 1997 to date. Currently, she also sits on many other councils and committees at the national level.

In 2010, Datin Paduka was named the ‘CEO of the Year 2009’ by the New Straits Times Press and the American Express. She has also received many more awards and accolades from 2011 to 2014, due to her contributions to the healthcare industry in Malaysia.

She launched her biography entitled “Siti Sa’diah : Driven by Vision, Mission and Passion”, penned by Professor Rokiah Talib, Penerbitan Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in 2013.

Datin Paduka is a member of the Academic Committee of the Razak School of Government (RSOG), and sits on several University Committees. She is a member of the University of Reading Malaysia (UoRM) Advisory Board, a member of the Centre for University-Industry Collaboration (CUIC) Advisory Council of Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) and as the Adjunct Professor of UUM’s Othman Yeop Abdullah Graduate School of Business, and as a Member of University Malaya’s Research Advisory Committee (UMRAC).

Datuk Dr. Rebecca Fatima Sta Maria is currently the Secretary General to the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI). Prior to the appointment as Secretary General of MITI, she was the MITI Deputy Secretary General of Trade. In this capacity, she was involved in handling trade related matters of the Ministry, including administering Malaysia’s interests under bilateral and regional Free Trade Agreements (FTAs), as well as Malaysia’s engagements in various international organizations such as ASEAN, APEC and WTO.

Within ASEAN, she was the Senior Economic Officials Lead for Malaysia and the Co-chair for ASEAN-India Free Trade in Goods Agreement, which was implemented on 1 January 2010. Datuk Dr. Rebecca is Malaysia’s representative to the High Level Task Force for Economic Integration in ASEAN. She began her career in the Administrative and Diplomatic Service in 1981 and served in various capacities in the then MITI. In 1988 she was seconded to the ASEAN Plant Quarantine and Training Centre as its Chief Administration and Procurement Officer. Datuk Dr. Rebecca holds a BA (Hons) in English Literature from University of Malaya and a Masters in Counseling from University Putra Malaysia. She also has a doctorate in Human Resources Development from The University of Georgia, Athens, United States, and in 2000 the American Academy of Human Resource Development awarded the Best Dissertation of the Year her PhD dissertation. In 2012, she received the Asia’s Leading Woman in the Public Sector Award from the Women in Leadership Asia progress of work done on the physical development especially on the Tokuyama Polycrystalline Silicon Plant (Phase 1 and 2), Press Metal Aluminium Smelting Plant, Samalaju Port and Section A dual carriageway Road connecting existing investors and Samalaju Port.

Mr. Tony Collingridge is the Director of UKTI for Malaysia with effect from 2011. UKTI helps companies in Britain increase their competitiveness through overseas trade in Malaysia and offers professional, authoritative and personalised assistance to help companies in Malaysia locate and expand in the UK. He was the Head of the Asia Pacific Regional Team based in Hong Kong at UKTI from 2006-2011, assisting UK companies based in Hong Kong to grow their businesses in the region, and additionally managing the Hong Kong inward investment team. Mr. Tony Collingridge was also the Head of the Australasia team, Overseas Trade Services, London (1995-1999), helping UK companies do business and expand their presence in the region. Tony was awarded the OBE, which is the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire in 2007.

Recent transaction include overseeing the sectors like oil and gas, financial services and education sectors, and the Islamic collaboration between the UK and Malaysia, a reflection of the fact that Britians as one of the world’s most prominent financial centre, coupled with Malaysia’s ambition on being the world’s leading Islamic financial centre. Tony joined the Civil Service in the late 1970s and, up until the mid-1990s, worked in a number of roles primarily concerned with the privatisation of the UK’s energy industries. During that period he also undertook the role of Parliamentary Clerk for the Department of Energy, was a Ministerial Private Secretary, and co-ordinated a comprehensive revision of the UK’s emergency planning regime covering the energy industries.

In 1991, he joined Zaid Ibrahim & Co as a partner where he rose up the ranks to become its managing partner in 2004. He assumed the role of regional managing partner of ZICOlaw in 2011.

In November 2014, Mr. Chew left his managing role in Zaid Ibrahim & Co. to take up a full time role as the Managing Director of ZICO and as the Chairman of the ZICOlaw Network.

Datuk Ranjit Ajit Singh is the Executive Chairman of the SC. He was previously Managing Director of the SC and has extensive experience in the field of finance and securities market regulation and has spearheaded many key initiatives in the development and reform of Malaysia’s capital market.

Datuk Ranjit was appointed the Vice-Chairman of the governing Board of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO), the global body of capital market regulators and was elected as the Chairman of IOSCO’s Growth and Emerging Markets Committee (GEM) which represents 93 countries. In 2014, Datuk Ranjit was appointed Chairman of the ASEAN Capital Markets Forum (ACMF), a body tasked to spearhead market integration efforts within the region and comprises capital market authorities from ASEAN.

Datuk Ranjit chairs the Securities Industry Development Corporation (SIDC), the Malaysian Venture Capital Development Council (MVCDC) and the Capital Market Development Fund (CMDF). He is also the Vice-Chairman of the Asian Institute of Finance and a member of the Board of the Labuan Financial Services Authority and the Financial Reporting Foundation, as well as a board member of the Malaysian Institute of Integrity (IIM).

Datuk Ranjit is trained as a financial economist and accountant. He holds a Bachelor of Economics (Honours) degree and a Master of Economics degree in Finance from Monash University, Melbourne. He was also conferred the degree of Doctor of Laws honoris causa by Monash University Melbourne. He is fellow of CPA Australia and has worked in academia, consulting and accounting in Australia and Malaysia.

Dr. Alan Tan is a Professor of Aviation Law at the National University of Singapore (NUS) Law School and Director of the NYU@NUS Dual Degree Program. Alan teaches and researches into aviation law, shipping law and environmental law. Alan’s main research interest is the liberalization of the aviation industry in Asia. He is Head of the Air Law & Policy programme at the NUS Centre for International Law (CIL) and teaches at the Singapore Aviation Academy (SAA). He is also a course trainer for the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Training and Development Institute.

Dr. Alan Tan was the Vice-Dean for Graduate Studies and Research at NUS Law (2006 to 2010), and was a Hauser Global Visiting Professor at New York University (NYU) School of Law in 2009, where he taught global aviation law and policy. He has also taught at the University of Sydney and served as a consultant to various governments and donor agencies, including the Vietnamese and Indonesian governments and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). He has been a consultant on aviation liberalization to the Asia-Pacific Economic Co-operation (APEC), the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), the ASEAN Airlines Meeting, the World Bank, the Arab League, the Indonesian and UAE governments and various national governments, as well as industry players such as Embraer and AirAsia. Alan has also been engaged as a consultant on aviation liberalization in Asia by the Asia-Pacific Economic Co-operation (APEC) forum, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

He is currently working on India’s evolving policy on civil aviation, antitrust immunity for airline alliances in Asia and issues of ownership and control, particularly in relation to Jetstar Hong Kong. He has also published extensively on aviation issues in leading journals and also authored opinion pieces in industry publications. Dr. Alan Tan holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B), from NUS, and both Master of Laws (LL.M), and Doctor of Laws (J.S.D.), from Yale Law School, Yale University, U.S.A.

She is also a part of TwoEco Inc. – a tourism consultancy firm designed to provide professional assistance on conceptualization, drafting, and implementation of various private and public tourism projects.

Through the years, she has held various positions in several travel industry associations and organizations. Currently, she serves as the President of the ASEAN Tourism Association (ASEANTA) from 2015 to present, Executive Vice President of the Tourism Congress of the Philippines (TCP) from 2014- to 2015, interim President of Federation of Tourism Industries of the Philippines (FTIP), ex officio member of the Philippine Travel Agencies Association (PTAA)She also served as President of the Philippine Travel Agencies Association from 2011-2012, as Chairman of the IATA Agency Programme Joint Council (APJC) in 2013 and as Philippine IATA Agents Travel Association (PIATA) from 2004 – 2005, among others.

Furthermore, she is also active in the Philippine tourism industry and has participated in a variety of forums, seminars, working groups, as a guest speaker, panelist or resource person in both local and international activities. Mr. U Than Lwin is the Senior Consultant and Deputy Chairman of Kanbawza (KBZ) Bank, the largest private financial institution in Myanmar. He joined the bank in 2004 as a consultant, after a long career at senior levels in government. Prior to KBZ Bank, Mr. Than Lwin began his career as an economist in the Research and Training department at the Central Bank of Myanmar, from which he retired as deputy governor in 2003.

During his years at the bank, he supervised balance-of-payment statistics and analysis with an emphasis on reserve management, before becoming a director in 1997. He was also controller of foreign exchange. From 1994 to 1996, Mr. Than Lwin served as technical assistant to the executive director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), taking part in the meetings, seminars, symposiums, and workshops of several multilateral bodies, including the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, the IMF, and the World Bank.

Mr. Than Lwin holds a degree in economics from Yangon University, Myanmar and a postgraduate diploma in economic planning from the Institute of Economics and has taken various training courses, including programs run by the IMF Institute in Washington, DC. A Member of Parliament since 2006, Mrs Teo was formerly Chairman of the Government Parliamentary Committee for Education and Assistant Secretary- General of the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC). She represented the labour movement on the government-appointed Economic Strategies Committee and co-chaired the sub-committee on Fostering Inclusive Growth. Fauziah Zen is an economist at Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA) and a faculty member of the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Indonesia. Since 2012, she has been appointed as Deputy Head of Socio-Humanity Commission in the Indonesia National Research Council (Dewan Riset Nasional). She also serves as a member of Advisory Team to Indonesia’s Finance Minister on Fiscal Decentralization since 2010 to provide research findings and advisory services. The International Air Transport Association (IATA) is the trade association for the world’s airlines, representing some 250 airlines or 84% of total air traffic. IATA supports many areas of aviation activity and helps formulate industry policy on critical aviation issues.

Vinoop leads a team that is responsible for all IATA’s activities in the Asia-Pacific region relating to airports – including Infrastructure, Capital expenditure and charges, Fuel supply, Passenger experience, Baggage services, Cargo, Ground handling, Security and Facilitation. In this capacity, Vinoop works with airports, governments and other aviation stakeholders in the region to improve the end-to-end passenger and cargo journey.

Prior to IATA, Vinoop headed Northwest Airlines’ IT division for the Asia-Pacific region and oversaw the implementation of new technologies ranging from back-office to passenger and airport processing.

Vinoop has a degree in Computer Science and Engineering from IIT, Delhi in India. He has about 25 years of aviation industry experience including a 15 year stint in Japan and has been with IATA since 2005.
