CIMB ASEAN Research Institute (CARI) was established in 2011 by CIMB Group as a regional public service in support of ASEAN's programme of economic integration, the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC). The AEC is a project to establish ASEAN as a single market, production base, and a competitive and equitable economic region that is fully integrated into the global economy by 2015.
